On a stormy night, orphan Ella wanders into an ancient vampire castle and meets Valen, a tormented, cold vampire lord. Ella’s rare ancient bloodline can soothe his raging dark power, sparking forbidden cross-species love. Coveting her unique blood, ambitious Prince Lord fabricates a spy letter to drive them apart. Blinded by paranoia, Valen wrongly expels Ella to the human world. Lord launches a rebellion, yet Valen uncovers his vicious plot mid-battle. Drowning in remorse, he heads to the human city to atone and wait for her. Cornered Lord tries to kidnap Ella, but Valen defeats and imprisons him forever. After a full year of gentle, persistent companionship, Ella heals her wounds and returns to the castle with Valen. He reforms outdated vampire laws, and they exchange promise rings to stay together for eternity.
